Technologies used during the evaluation process

The creative critical response tasks have required me to expand my knowledge of different softwares and online technologies in order to present my evaluation and as for the hardware aspect I mainly relied on using my Microsoft Surface 4 laptop and occasionally used my iPhone 11.

For task 1 I used PowerPoint to present my response. I wanted to be as creative as possible so I spent my time exploring the different settings that I haven't used in the past for example the live backgrounds that you can now use. I wanted to use a colour scheme that reflected our title sequence so I chose reds and pinks to match the romantic shots we took. For the first page of the PowerPoint I put each word of text from the question into separate text boxes so that I could arrange them how I wanted to fit the shape of the header. I took an image of some art that had the colours I wanted and saved it so I could use it as a background for all my slides. Instead of changing the background individually I made it so that the background applied to all slides which saved me a lot of time. I took many different screen shots for this task to give examples of similar products. I did this by pressing the PrtScn key and then pasting and cropping the image into PowerPoint. I made the conscious decision not to use animations because I feel that it slows the presentation down and I felt that mine was very visual already and adding anything else would make it too much. I then embedded the powerpoint into blogger by copying and pasting the embed code into the HTML view on blogger.

For task 2 I used blogger as normal to give my reflection and because I have used blogger for so long now I have become quite good at the layout of my work especially when it comes to figuring out how to get multiple pictures to all be in one row! I used the online software Canva to make my film poster. I hadn't used canva before so I first explored the tools and templates and once I found one that had a font of text that I liked I used it to paste the image I got off Pinterest as the background of the poster and tested out different fonts, sizes and placements of the words to see what looked more aesthetically pleasing. I wanted it to look as real as possible to I got a certificate of age image off google and types out the cast/crew names in really small text to put at the bottom of the poster. If I was to make another poster I would have edited the picture beforehand to darken the edges in a vignette to hint to the darker atmosphere of our piece.

For task 3 I used Prezi which I have only used a few times before so it was still fairly new to me. I picked a template I liked and then deleted all of the images that were in it and changed the colour palette to match that of our sequence and then I added and deleted the subtopic bubbles so that it went in the order I wanted and looked how I wanted it. I made sure to add plenty of images to each section of text to make it more visually interesting. I also wanted all of my text to fit in the bubble to I had to vary the text size and play around with where I placed it so that it looked good.

For this task I have made my own website using WIX. To do this I picked a template and then deleted all the pictures, strips and pages so that I was able to start from scratch but still keep the style of the menu bar and front page layout. This has been my first time using WIX and it has taken me a while to become competent at using it and took a lot of trial and error. Having said that I found it is far easier to embed things on here that it is on blogger! You simply press the + button and go down to videos and enter the URL for what you want or click on any other form of media you want to embed. For the home page I used a picture of the filming of the title sequence because I thought it was nice that you saw it through the camera and then the same image but as the thumbnail of the YouTube video underneath. For each different page I went through our title sequence and picked out different moment that had a good enough colour scheme in them that you would be able to see the text. I alternated between a screenshot of the intimate scenes and the exorcism ones. I have become familiar with most of the tools and how to navigate from page to page. I have inserted lots of pictures from my laptop to add visual aids to my text.
